Roosevelt Farm Lane and connecting trails

A beautiful Earth Day morning greeted our group of eight as we gathered for a 4-mile saunter along trails in the protected corridor that connects the FDR and ValKill Historic sites in Hyde Park. A few (too few) spring ephemerals, including blood root and hepatica, were spotted. Near the end of our walk, singer/song-writer Jean McAvoy expressed our collective appreciation of our setting by singing her own “Arbor Day Song”. Thank you, Jean.

Others joining Georgette Weir were Joyce M, Margaret D, Connie H, Catherine C, Mary A, and guest Roy H. L.

Hikers spot blooming bloodroot along the trail.
