Fri, Apr 17  – John Burroughs Nature Sanctuary Hike

Eleven hikers came out to enjoy a delightful spring morning at the preserve in West Park, NY. We took advantage of the mild temperature to peek into Slabsides; the cabin John Burroughs built, watch a bale of turtles sunning themselves, and catch the views from the peninsula that juts into the pond as we made our way along the 4.5 mile trail. Participants included Chris B, Kathy B, John K, Jeff H, Nicole W, Henry R, Lynn K, Deborah S, and Kathy A, along with leader Catherine Forbes and co-leader Georgette Weir. This is Catherine’s final required hike as she pursues hike leader certification for ADK.
