We’ll start from Mohonk Preserve Spring Farm trailhead and take Chapel to Undivided lot to Clove trail while making our way to .Zaidee’s Bower. After the scramble we’ll retrace some of our steps to return to Spring Farm. Bring plenty of water, food, snacks for the day. Dress in layers. Confirm with leader for time. Fri, Nov 11 – Fishkill Ridge Hike to 1945 Crash Site, Fishkill, NY. Class B+, 2.5 miles.

We will hike up Fishkill Ridge to the 1945 air plane crash site that took the lives of 4 Navy servicemen on their way back from an Army Navy football game on November 11, 1945. One of the men was Admiral Dixie Keifer, the “Indestructible Man”. Learn about this incredible service man and see some of the actual wreckage and a plaque that bears the names of all who perished that day. Contact leader for meeting time and place. Sat, Nov 12 – Minnewaska State Park Preserve, High Peterskill Loop Hike, 5-6 miles, moderately strenuous

We will start at the Peterskill Parking area and hike to the High Peterskill Trail via the Bull Wheel Trail. Then steeply down to the beautiful Peters Kill, up to the High ledges with inspiring views, over to Awosting Falls, and back to the parking area along the Awosting Falls Carriage Road. We will take Mossy Glen to Blueberry Run to the iconic views of Castle Point. Depending on the weather and our stamina, we will walk for a bit on the carriage road to the Rainbow Falls trail where we can continue onto the falls, OR pick up the Upper Awosting carriage road back to Blueberry Run and return on Lower Awosting carriage road. We will have a couple of different options depending on the group’s desire and energy level. Pace will be relaxed to moderate. Confirm with the leader for meeting place & start time.
