Come to Kingston Point Beach in Kingston, NY, for paddlesports fun and socializing.  This year MidHudson ADK is blending its PaddleFest with Kenco’s Kingston Kayak Festival.  You don’t need a kayak and gear, but if you have one, bring it.  There will be activities only available for experienced paddlers with their own kayaks and gear.  A schedule of activities and requirements are listed below.  Kingston Point Beach is located in the Rondout area of Kingston.

ADMISSION:  $10 donation to Forsyth Nature Center
(Members of MidHudson Chapter of Adirondack Mtn. Club admitted free with membership card.)

WEAR CLOTHING & SHOES THAT CAN GET WET, polyester or nylon, rather than cotton.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

10:30 – 11:00   Beginners’ Kayak Lesson (on land)

10:30 – 1:30     Advanced Kayak Tour – Hudson River & Rondout Creek. BYO kayak & gear: minimum length 14 ft. with dual bulkheads required.  Limited space.  Pre-registration recommended starting 6/9/14.  Call 845-338-5021.

11:15 – 12:00   Beginners’ Kayak Tour. Boats & gear supplied.  Limited space.  Sign-up required with Steve Noble at 845-481-7336.

11:15 – 12:15   Intermediate Kayak Lesson (on water) BYO kayak & gear.  Skills: paddle strokes, bracing, turning,etc.  Limited space.  Pre-registration required.  Call 845-338-5021.

11:30               How to Pick a Kayak

11:45 – 12:30   Beginners’ Kayak Lesson (on land)

12:30 – 1:15     Beginners’ Kayak Tour (See 11:15 for requirements.)

12:30               How to Choose a Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP)

12:45 – 3:45     Advanced Kayak Tour – Northbound on Hudson River. BYO kayak & gear: minimum length 14 ft. with dual bulkheads required.  Limited space.  Pre-registration recommended starting 6/9/14.  Call 845-338-5021.

1:00 – 1:45       Beginners’ Kayak Lesson (on land)

1:30                 Learn to SUP

1:45 – 2:30       Beginners’ Kayak Tour (See 11:15 for requirements.)

2:00 – 3:00       Advanced Kayak Lesson (on water) BYO kayak & gear: minimum length 14 ft. with dual bulkheads, paddle float, bilge pump required.  Skills: assisted & self rescues, edging turns, etc.  Limited space.  Pre-registration required.  Call 845-338-5021.
