…, but beautiful and fun for the 13 participants. Yes, temps on Sunday were in the negative 20s in the morning, and most of the group set a minimum temp of minus 5 before they would head outside. Various outings were enjoyed each day, including a little x-country skiing by two of our hardier members, though snow cover was light; hikes from our cabin at Heart Lake to Mount Van Hoevenberg (Saturday) and Rocky Falls (Sunday afternoon); a photo expedition to Cascade Lake; and shopping in Lake Placid.
Thanks go to Pete and Carol McGinnis for organizing the weekend, and to all who brought great food for copious pot-luck dinners on Saturday and Sunday. Plan now to join the outing next year, same time (President’s Day Weekend) and place (ADK’s Wiezel Trails Cabin at Heart Lake).
