It was a roller coaster week, weather wise, but it finally cooperated and offered us a challenging and rewarding hike up Sugarloaf Mountain. The Sugarloaf loop is considered to be one of the most difficult hikes in the Catskills, with over a mile of steep and relentless scrambling in each direction, on the aptly named Devil’s Path. The group was well prepared for the challenge and a great time was had by all.
7.6 miles starting at 9:45 and back to the cars at 5:30.
Hikers were Pete, Doug, Ursula, Louise, Jill, Roger, and the leader, Sharon.
