Our group of nine ADK and non-ADK members spent a delightful afternoon paddling on the picturesque Rio Reservoir in Sullivan County. Our first stop was the waterfall. Jonathan took the short hike to the falls while the rest of us waited in our boats. We weren’t surprised when he returned with the disappointing news; the falls were just a trickle. Our next stop was for lunch and a swim in the clear waters of the reservoir. It was a great time for compelling conversation. Some of the group paddled toward the dam; once we had a glimpse of it we turned around. On the way back we discovered several picnic-type areas hidden in the woods. Fauna count: 2 eagles, 1 tiny frog and a small snake slithering near the shore. It was a lovely, fun day on and in the water!
Paddlers included ADK members John and Gina R., Connie H., Dea M., Linda W., Ellen K., Jonathan B. and the leader, JeanetteTB. One non-ADK member, Rich S., joined us.
