Sat, Oct 11 – Tour of the Raptor Trust and hike through New Jersey’s Great Swamp

On Saturday Oct. 11 Mid-Hudson ADK traveled down to Millington, NJ where we were treated to a tour of the Raptor Trust, one of the premier bird of prey rehabilitation facilities in the country.  Member Lori Herpen, who is a staff member at Raptor Trust arranged for a private tour of the facility where we viewed many species of raptors in various stages of rehabilitation, and some that are permanent residents.   After the tour we hiked in the Great Swamp area down the road.  The hike was cut short due to impending rain.  In attendance were Annette C., Sharon K., Roberta F., Robin S., Lori H, Robin’s sister and two people from the Ramapo Chapter where it was cross-listed.
