Sat, Sep 27 – Minnewaska To Castle Point and Back

We had a beautiful, sunny but humid day for the hike to Castle Point.  We took Mossy Brook Trail end to end.  Next Blueberry Run Trail all the way to Castle Point.  Here we had lunch, enjoying the view and the absence of wind.  Then we walked down the Carriage Road to Rainbow Falls Trail.  From the viewpoint on the Rainbow Falls Trail we saw almost no water flowing at the falls.  So we did not go there.  We walked Carriage Road back to Blueberry Run.  The group decided to get back to cars via Lower Awosting Carriage Rd.  Participants were: Pete C, Kay B, Robin S, Gwen L, Jane B, Shu T & Maria V.  along with leader Roberta F.
