Hiked Falling Waters and the Saugerties Lighthouse trails Sunday, November 9th with 5 ADK members and one guest.  This area in Saugerties was one of Carla Barretts’ favorites, she often led hikes there, and this one was organized in her memory.   It’s easy to see what Carla loved here, two of the three trails at Falling Waters are easy and short with stunning views of waterfalls, the river, and deep woods.  The third, white trail, is a narrow trail that runs riverside with enough ups and downs, rocks and roots to be challenging.  We got a bonus road tour of Saugerties following Marie C to the lighthouse, a decidedly scenic route contrary to all GPS directions, we did eventually arrive, hiked the short path to the lighthouse and enjoyed lunch and snacks on the deck.  Annette C led, Dea M, Pete C, and Marie C made both hikes, Connie H and Kathy R (guest) joined just the first.
