Sun, Dec 28 QR – Minnewaska Park Cross-Country Skiing

From the Visitor’s Center, donned with classic skis, we started up the Upper Awosting Carriage Road (UA) then skied around the lake on Lake Awosting Carriage Road (LC). From there we ascended to Castle Point and continued down Castle Point Carriage Road (CP) back to the parking lot finishing at 4:00 PM and completing 11.8 miles. We enjoyed overcast yet stunning views from several viewpoints. The trails received about 8″ of snow 36 hours prior making conditions excellent. The temperature was around 23 degrees. This trip was led by Rich Cerruto and attended by Jean-Claude F.
