Mon, Jan 19 to Thu, Jan 22 – Adirondack Loj Hiking & Camping

This was the second winter that we took advantage of the nice campground at the ADK’s Heart Lake property.  We camped out 2 nights and had two activity days.  On the first activity day we snowshoed to Marcy Dam and back and in the evening most of us hiked around Heart Lake wearing microspikes.  There was thin snow cover and two hardy group members did this on skis.  On the second hiking day we climbed Mt. Jo in microspikes.  While the weather on Mt Jo was spectacular we could see a storm coming in and we decided to break camp one night early and depart.  Driving conditions were so bad that some of us stopped in Warrensburg NY for the night to get off the road.  The group consisted of guest Jim C and members Janet P, Carolyn C, Gregg H, Russell L & Rich A along with leaders David M & Bob C.
