• Developing a thorough knowledge of the Outdoor Leaders Guide (OLG) and other artifacts and tools provided by the club to assist leaders to organize outings (day hikes/backpacking/flatworater canoe/kayak trips, biking, x-country ski and snowshoes) 
• Encourage leaders to submit trip reports and completed waivers to the club
• Write articles and ensure there is an accurate list of activities for the quarterly MHADK newsletter  
• Maintain a list of possible outings leaders for fill-in and maintain communication channel for leaders
• Relay any outings-related safety issues to the chapter board and related injury reports to the club  
• Provide updated signup/responsibility forms and outing ratings as they are available
• Screen prospective outing leaders and assist them with necessary certifications

Chair duties include:

• Coordinate/oversee activities of the Outings committee
• Recruit committee members to organize specific outing types
• Conduct committee meetings as needed
• Provide periodic reports to the Chapter board and participate in Chapter board meetings

Requirements are an active membership in the Mid-Hudson chapter of ADK, experience in leading outings, (preferably certified to lead but will train)
