Sat, Sep 12 – Paddle & Tour of SoundWaters

This was a joint outing with the Kayaking the Liquid Skies Meetup group.

We had beautiful weather for our tour out of Boccuzzi park in Stamford, CT to Cove Island for lunch. The scenery was great & we saw many shore birds & sailboats. Upon our return we had a tour of SoundWaters who educates children of all ages about the Long Island sound through schools, after-school activities, camps, etc. They teach paddle boarding, sailing & kayaking. A high school program pairs up graduates not on a college tract to learn boat building & woodworking skills with area employers. Their science labs etc are very engaging. Recently they added a boat to go up & down the sound to bring their education closer to area schools.
