Thu, Oct 1 – MWH Mt Beacon Fire Tower Loop

A gorgeous day for a hike up to Mt Beacon fire tower & then around to the reservoir. Very rocky trails. It was 1000’ elevation gain in the first mile. Very humid & warm, but never rained. The sun even came out for a short time. There were loads of lantern flies at the tower where we had lunch, nowhere else. We squashed as many as we could. Too hazy in the distant for NYC skyline. Another great day in the woods. Hikers were Katy B, Judy B, George K, Jean M and the leaders Ginny & Lalita.
