Sat, Oct 3 – Harvest Fest Hike the Preserve at Vassar

Our chapter worked a member recruitment table at the Poughkeepsie Farm Project Harvest Fest on the Vassar Preserve Saturday, October 3rd, and we scheduled an easy hike to coincide. Four MHADK members, Gwen L, Joan B, Ellen K and Carol G joined leader Annette C for this hike on a perfectly clear, temperate, beautiful autumn day. We hiked the Cooper trail alongside the farm and through the woods, then back on the farm road surrounded by meadows. This time of year is the best for being outside and absorbing the changing colors of the landscape. A women’s rugby game was in progress as we approached the Vassar barn so got to watch some of that fascinating sport live. Was a really nice day.
