Hike to the King’s Chamber

Leader: John Ragusa
Saturday, April 16

The day was cloudy with the threat of rain. We met in the small parking area at the trailhead. There were 14 hikers including the Leader. We started on the trail that immediately crossed through the spillover from the Waywayanda Lake. We then proceeded on a carriage road into a grassy area with power lines overhead to a trail that went deep into the woods with lots of mountain laurel not in bloom at this time.  At the end of this trail, we made a left and had to go through another stream but because of recent heavy rains, the usual trail was now a small stream so we had to parallel the stream and do some bushwacking until we came to the King’s Chamber where we all enjoyed a well-deserved rest and had some snacks and enjoyed exploring the chamber and its surroundings. We then traveled a short distance to another smaller chamber after which we headed back the same way we came in.

All had a very good time and not a drop of rain!

Hikers JoAnn N, Ellen K, Dieter S, Connie H, Kathy S, Ann C, Annette C, Pete C, Gina R, Shirley F, Marie C, Charlotte M and Lalita M joined the leader, John Ragusa.
