Mills Norrie State Park, Staatsburg, NY

On Saturday, April 30th, eleven hikers (10 ADK members and 1 guest) enjoyed a beautiful Spring day hiking the easy trails of the Hopeland Area in Mills Norrie state park.  We were in search of daffodils, but alas too late for their early bloom in in the park (we’ll get em next year).  We hiked every trail but but didn’t quite make 3 miles, so most of the hikers caravanned out to nearby Vlei Marsh in Rhinebeck.  An intriguing  trail including tree sculptures a witch doctors’ cabin, and some very high chairs up in the trees.   At large snake diverted our course at one point, he had the right of way.
