Thu, Jan 15 – MWH Sterling Forest Fire Tower Loop

From both sides of the Hudson, we all drove down in the rain, but then arrived to sun & blue sky at the parking lot. Gorgeous day! We took a side trail through part of the ironworks and then hiked up to the ridge and out to the first viewpoint where we had a view of the NYC skyline. We had lunch on some rocks & then we hiked to the Fire Tower which is closed because of structural problems. It had warmed up before lunch, then grew colder & windy in the afternoon.
