Sat, Apr 11 – Chodikee Lake Paddle, Highland NY

This was a joint outing with Kayaking the Liquid Skies meetup.
We had 4 ADK members attend, everyone was dressed for immersion due to the combined cool water & air temps.  We paddled to the waterfall, landed on the side had lunch and a walk to view the waterfall at different levels. The sound of water flowing is very peaceful. Then we paddled back towards the put in and paddled to the opposite side. We were stopped by a beaver dam that blocked the lake flow. The paddle was 4.7 miles & lasted about 3 hours. There were many beaver lodges,  turtles, including a snapper, birds, 2 swans & some colorful wild flowers. It was a very relaxing time. ADK paddlers included Theresa M, Shari A, Dave W, and the leader Linda Horton.
